Background

Strategy & Innovation Consulting was founded by Dr. Angelika Esswein in 2000 with the goal of assisting entrepreneurs and organisations in health and biosciences to plan, develop and manage organisational growth successfully.

Dr. Esswein has over ten years experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry and held positions as Senior Scientist at Roche's Pharma division and Research Director Med. Chem./Bone Metabolism at Boehringer Mannheim, where she was part of a team that discovered and developed ibandronate (Bonviva™) that is successfully marketed today. Prior to this she held a research position at the Department of Experimental Medicine at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, USA .

Dr. Esswein received a PhD in chemisty from the University of Konstanz, Germany and a master's degree in Business Administration from NIMBAS/University of Bradford, UK . She has co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and 20 patents. In 2003 the European Commission appointed Dr. Esswein as an independent expert for the evaluation of proposals under the 6th Framework Programme LifeSciHealth.
